I plan on creating a series of posts entitled “Must Know Vendor” where I introduce and highlight South Florida Vendors that are in a league of their own; a master of their craft. I’m so excited and honored to share my very first “Must Know Vendor” with you, Kat Braman Photography! First off, I would like to let her work speak for itself….then we’ll get to know Kat with a little Q and A action.

Q: Okay Kat, tell us a little bit about yourself.
A: I am originally from the Czech Republic and I moved to the US when I was 10 years old with my family. I grew up skiing in Breckenridge, Colorado and spent a lot of years doing nothing but that. I met my husband at the University of Colorado and moved to Florida with him. A few years back we took an amazing trip to Alaska. I bought a DSLR and here we are today.
Q: I love that you and your Husband are fellow CU Buff Alumni! Why do you believe you became a photographer?
A: Because I have stories to tell and I can’t write, so I tell stories with my camera.
Q: How would you describe your signature style?
A: Authentic, Storytelling and Edgy.
Q: What are some of your most favorite shots?

Q: I love that you picked one of my engagement photos (f.y.i. it’s the last pic)! What do you find to be the most exciting wedding trend to capture?
A: So many more couples are creating weddings that are a reflection of their personalities. I love to see people bucking the trends and doing their own thing.
Q: How would you describe your ideal couple?
A: Fun, happy and completely in love
Q: What are 5 words that your friends or family would use to best describe you?
A: Loud, Determined, Passionate, Eccentric, Loyal.
Q: Any advice you have for Brides in selecting a wedding photographer?
A: Pick someone whose style you truly love and connect with. And then make sure you connect with them on a personal level as well. You’ll spend more time with your photographer than anyone else on your wedding day. It’s important that you like them. An engagement session is a great way to get more comfortable with your photographer and each other in front of the camera, which will give you more relaxed and natural photos on your wedding day. Before making a final decision, it’s a good idea to ask to see a complete wedding gallery so you can make sure the quality and style of their work is consistent throughout the wedding day.
Q: What is your favorite inspirational wedding blog and why?
A: Junebug Weddings. They always feature the most incredible photography.
Speaking of Junebug Weddings…congratulations on making it on their “Best of the Best 2010 Wedding Photos of the Year” list! I’m so excited for you! Thank you so much Kat for sharing your beautiful work with us and letting us get to know you! I look forward to our many collaborations to come!
